How To Ship Your Carburetor
When you have to ship your carburetor one of the best ways is by the US Post Office. USPS has what is called priority flat rate boxes.
There are two sizes you can use. Medium and Large. The boxes are free and shipping is around $10 for the medium and $14 for the large. Most 1 and 2 barrels and most 4 barrels will fit in the medium box. You will probably have to remove the threaded rod that holds your air cleaner on.
Be sure to wrap your carburetor well with plastic so that the gas smell doesn't come through. Alcohol will also help remove the gas smell. Also add enough packing so that the carburetor doesn’t move around in the box.
Priority flat rate takes two to four days to arrive.
Medium box dimensions 11 x 8.5 x 5.5 Large box dimensions 12 x 12 x 5.5
Don't forget to include your name, address and phone # where you can be reached. Also include your email address, so we can let you know how the process is going. It is very helpful if you include the old mounting gasket. Some carburetors have multiple versions of gaskets so matching the old gasket insures you have the correct one.
You don't need to call when you send the package, but we will call you and let you know that we received it.
When we are ready to ship your carburetor back, we will call you for your credit card information. You can optionally send us a check, or money order. You can also include payment with your carburetor if you wish. We like to add insurance to the return shipping, just in case. Please let us know if you have any special concerns about the value of your carburetor.
I think this is one of the most painless ways to get your carburetor to the rebuilder.
We do everything we can to make sure your carburetor gets to you safely, but we are not responsible for any shipping damage.
